I met Lisa Loeb tonight. She's cute as hell, really awesome in concert, and cool as shit.

And she signed my guitar! And said she liked our music! (We played the same festival as her.)

Such an awesome day.

The most amazing song I've ever co-written. [May. 6th, 2006|03:23 am]
I wrote this with Joe over the past few nights. It's hard to describe, but the verses are over soft piano, and accents of guitar. The choruses are much louder with drums, guitars, piano, and harmony vocals all creating a huge sound. The whole song grows as a giant crescendo, and by the time it hits the bridge, it's absolutely HUGE, until coming back to the chorus in a few different ways. I love it. So much. I'll put it on my myspace when it's done, you all have to hear it. In the meantime, what do you think of the lyrics?

Glorious
5-5-06, Joe Spector, Andrew Uchenick

I sleep with a ghost every night
a shade of a time long ago
the nightmare of any romantic
the dread of waking up alone

disconnect the wires, I'm leaving
on a journey to places unknown
the mission of any romantic
the truth at the heart of your soul...

TOGETHER WE WANDER SEARCHING
FOR THE CRACK WHERE THE LIGHT SHINES THROUGH
THE DREAM OF ALL ROMANTICS
IS TO LIVE FOR ALL THAT'S TRUE

I've spent too long in my shadow
waiting for some guarantee
so long that I almost forgot
how glorious we all can be

TOGETHER WE WANDER SEARCHING
FOR THE CRACK WHERE THE LIGHT SHINES THROUGH
THE DREAM OF ALL ROMANTICS
IS TO LIVE FOR ALL THAT'S TRUE

*bridge*
*chorus, solo*

Sick of it all [Apr. 11th, 2006|07:37 pm]
I am officially sick and tired of Florida.
I am going NOWHERE here. Just paying rent.

I'm coming back to MD this summer.
Going to stay with my mom for a little while, then get my own place.
Going to try and work at the Howl at the Moon downtown, maybe. Someday.

More details later.

Remember, Remember, the Fifth of November [Mar. 22nd, 2006|12:27 am]
I saw V for Vendetta tonight.

It's one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Not only does V (an anti-hero in a Guy Fawkes mask) kick a whole lot of ass and have a penchant for daggers, but he's pretty clever, loves the Count of Montecristo and Shakespeare, and introduces himself using approxmiately 55 words that start with the letter "V."

And oh yeah, the dominos? Wicked cool.

Go see it. Let me know what you think.

I'm gonna go see it again.

Andrew Uchenick is going on tour.

No fucking joke.

Guy I know named Harold Lima started a GREAT band, sort of a 60's throwback sort of sound. Very beatles-like, kinda trippy, great harmonies and melodies and all.

I joined up as a keyboard player/guitar player/backing vocalist and it's GREAT.

The catch?

You probably have heard of Harold, except you might've known him as Devin Lima. Yeah, from LFO. No, this isn't anything to do with a boy band. And no, it isn't commercial. But he's backing a tour and an album himself.

Rehearsals until summer. Then look for me in a club near you!

No fucking joke!

[Current Mood |numbnumb]

I don't understand what's wrong with me
I don't understand why I can't be happy with what I have
why am I always wanting?
I am a miserable, sad excuse for a human being
how can anybody love someone
that can't even love themselves
everything is always gone
everything is always leaving
she's gone
just like everyone else

I have a problem
that I can't fix alone
but until I fix it
I'm alone.

Details [Jan. 31st, 2006|07:25 pm]
Okay, so details.

Recently, I had some major repair work done on my car. A large part of the engine was rebuilt. The sebring was getting up there in years; it was 10 years old at this point! Anyway, they apparently screwed something up with the fuel line.

I was driving to work, and I realized I was early and hungry, so I pulled into a Walgreens on the way to grab a snack. Some guy working construction at the KFC across the street yelled to me, "Hey man, your car is on fire!" I didn't really believe him, but I pulled over to look, and sure enough, there was a fire under my car, near my front left tire! I freaked out, grabbed my iPod and my guitar, and ran away from the car towards the construction area. I pulled out my cell phone to call 911, but a construction worker mentioned he already did. Before the fire dept got there, the flames were shooting out of my car nearly ten feet high. By the time they put it out, there was little more than a hunk of burnt metal and cloth, sitting on the road next to the walgreens parking lot.

Aimee has basically been living at my place and driving me to work and picking me up since it happened. Progressive is going to hook me up with a rental until I get my check for approximately $11,000 for a new car.

Life, they say, is not without a sense of humor.

My car exploded.

In a firey inferno.

Seriously.

I'm fine.

Goodbye Sebring...

Aimee is amazing. Mind-blowingly amazing.

These are some words that sprung from a word she made up.

PARALYKISS

and when we touch our lips
like this, we kiss
I shiver, I shake
I lose control of my mind
from your lips
to our embrace
this feeling you create
my muse, you inspire me
to do nothing at all
but feel this pure joy
this ecstacy
this enchantment I have
in this connection with you
you move me in ways like no other

one day we will touch our lips
like this, a kiss
and then you will see
this overwhelming power you have over me
from your lips
to my heart
the feeling you'll create
and together we'll be inspired
to do nothing at all
but be intertwined
and connected
and the enchantment we have
in this embrace with each other
it all began with paralysis
from
your
kiss

for Aimee Berger [Jan. 5th, 2006|07:42 pm]
Burning Blue

in my long journey i've crossed a thousand lives
and all of them lack all the things that I desire
drawn by a light like which i have never seen
you blind me, surprise me, entwine me with your fire

and I can see it in your eyes
staring back, burning blue
and I still can't believe
my feelings for you
so I'll sing you my song
in my heart, burning blue
as I hope that you'll let me
get closer to you

you thrill me, you chill me, you take my breath away
sometimes it seems it's too good to ever be true
my heart on my sleeve tells me to put up my guard
but how can I ignore all that is burning blue?

and I can see it in your eyes
staring back, burning blue
and I still can't believe
my feelings for you
so I'll sing you my song
in my heart, burning blue
as I hope that you'll let me
get closer to you

*instrumental break*

and I can see it in your eyes
staring back, burning blue
all my deepest desires
and dreams shine through
so I'll sing you my song
in my heart, burning blue
as I hope that you'll let me
get closer to you

'cause I've waited all my life
for someone burning blue
and there's no one I'd rather
it be than you
I understand there's things
in your life you must do...
still I hope you can let me
burn blue with you
