Details

Okay, so details.

Recently, I had some major repair work done on my car. A large part of the engine was rebuilt. The sebring was getting up there in years; it was 10 years old at this point! Anyway, they apparently screwed something up with the fuel line.

I was driving to work, and I realized I was early and hungry, so I pulled into a Walgreens on the way to grab a snack. Some guy working construction at the KFC across the street yelled to me, "Hey man, your car is on fire!" I didn't really believe him, but I pulled over to look, and sure enough, there was a fire under my car, near my front left tire! I freaked out, grabbed my iPod and my guitar, and ran away from the car towards the construction area. I pulled out my cell phone to call 911, but a construction worker mentioned he already did. Before the fire dept got there, the flames were shooting out of my car nearly ten feet high. By the time they put it out, there was little more than a hunk of burnt metal and cloth, sitting on the road next to the walgreens parking lot.

Aimee has basically been living at my place and driving me to work and picking me up since it happened. Progressive is going to hook me up with a rental until I get my check for approximately $11,000 for a new car.

Life, they say, is not without a sense of humor.
